Sanctuary city rules, more Taylor Swift news (true story)

The Denver Crimes Thursday July 27, 2017 email newsletter.

This happens every so often: Slow news week. Unless you're into Taylor Swift, in which case this is the busiest news week here in Denver we've had since Crocs executive George Boedecker got a DUI and claimed his girlfriend Taylor Swift was behind the wheel (The Denver Post lost the article in its CMS transition, the New York Daily News' rewrite is linked to instead).

In site news... the site is udpated with the latest data from the Denver Police Department. Also, some of the crime-news links lists were getting long so now each Denver crime report and each Denver neighborhood crime report now have sub-pages with as much news as is indexed for the section.

Denver Crime Stat Shot

Burglaries in Denver are down 11.5 percent from this time last year. Here are two charts on how that crime plays out:

New on Denver Post Crimes

The Denver crime map's up to date, the Denver crime reports are current, and each of the Denver neighborhood crime reports have the latest news, stats, and incidents.

Denver crime news

Like I said, slow news week.

Denver currently adheres to Justice Department rules central to crackdown on sanctuary cities. But that could change.
