International grifter, mother-daughter fight, Denver crime data's back
The Denver Crimes Thursday June 1, 2017 email newsletter.
So it's a great news / bad news-that's-actually-okay news on today's update: We finally got a new round of crime report data on the site, so that's cool, and there really hasn't been that much crime news the last week, which isn't great for this email but is pretty okay for all the people who had nice normal weeks of their lives. One of these days I'm going to make a calendar-view of how frequently Denver crime news happens, maybe it will look like this:
But you're here for the crime updates. Here's the latest news:
- A 27-year-old Romanian grifter got five years in the clink in Denver after he was convicted in a credit card cloning scam. “International grifter” is the way he's described in the headline.
- The last teen on the lam from charges after a homicide in Southmoor Park in May was captured this week in California. The other suspect in the slaying, also a teen, turned herself in May 20th.
- An Arapahoe County judge sentenced a Crip gang member who pleaded guilty to attempted first-degree murder to 40 years in prison for a crime spree last year in Denver and Aurora.
- And, finally: A mother-daughter fight is the lead story in this week's Denver police blotter.
So the great thing about DPD updating their crime reports is now we've got new crime numbers and statistics on all the Denver neighborhood listings as well as the specific crime reports themselves. There are other reports that don't get as much attention: The city of Denver crime report, and the 16th Street Mall crime report. That sums it up.
If you want off this email, reply with UNSUBSCRIBE-THURSDAYS in the message. Thanks for reading! JoeFeatured: The 16th Street Mall crime report.
